Teen Vogue is looking for a Commerce Editor with a strong voice and organizational skills to join our commerce team and create smart, authentic shopping stories that our readers will want to purchase from. The role requires an in-depth understanding of the e-commerce landscape as well as Teen Vogue’s unique ability to create engaging, service-driven content that drives key Commerce KPIs and revenue growth. The ideal candidate has an enthusiasm for commerce content across style, beauty, and identity—with the organizational, strategic, and technical skills necessary to ensure delivery of revenue and profit targets.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Write, pitch, assign, and top-edit commerce content across verticals at Teen Vogue
  • Manage a freelance roster across multiple categories, including style, beauty, wellness, sex, and lifestyle
  • Strategize and execute affiliate strategy that achieves Teen Vogue’s annual revenue target
  • Drive a clear editorial point of view for product and shopping recommendations appealing to the Teen Vogue reader
  • Synthesize purchasing data, consumer trends, and competitive analysis to make informed, strategic editorial decisions and assignments that drive key Commerce KPIs and revenue growth 
  • Establish and maintain commerce editorial calendar to feature ongoing, seasonal, and tentpole shopping content 
  • Plan and execute on all tentpole shopping holidays, including Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, After-Christmas, and more
  • Apply SEO best practices to commerce-driven posts
  • Identify categories that present commerce opportunities by studying purchasing data, tracking site analytics, performing a competitive analysis of comparable sites, and researching consumer trends
  • Participate in editorial meetings and collaborate with vertical editors to develop commerce opportunities in each of our categories that fit the Teen Vogue brand voice and vision
  • Coordinate closely with the Commerce and Audience Development teams to share data and best practices that can inform editorial decision-making

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a mix of product & shopping editorial expertise as well as a strong enthusiasm for helping define the content-to-commerce strategy at Teen Vogue.

  • 2+ years editing commerce content at a digital property, as well as refining commerce best practices 
  • Superior knowledge of SEO tactics to attract a buying audience
  • Strong analytical skills and experience synthesizing affiliate performance across different verticals, product categories, retailers, and content types to optimize for revenue generation
  • Substantial understanding of attribution models, affiliate metrics, and multi-channel funnels
  • Experience in managing product sourcing logistics at a digital property (either editorial or commerce)
  • Strong organizational skills, a self-directed work style, and polished communication skills
  • A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to directly accelerate the growth of Condé Nast’s commerce business
