Edelman New York, a growing office of about 900 employees, has an amazing opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to propel their career in strategic communications and join the Corporate & Public Affairs practice as a part-time or full-time Spring Intern on the Employee Engagement team.  
 
Our Employee Engagement team works with clients to accelerate business performance by helping them effectively engage their employees. Our global network specializes in developing and executing engagement strategies with expertise in employee ambassador activation programs, major milestone and anniversary celebrations, culture and behavior change planning, leadership communication and storytelling training, digital and social content creation, employee involvement in sponsorships, and more.

Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Participation in brainstorms 
  • Reading and identifying media clips from clipping services and online resources 
  • Monitoring client competition coverage 
  • Pitching the media under the direction of the supervisor
  • Preparation of press kits for distribution
  • Updating media lists 
  • Assisting with compilation of media coverage reports 
  • Drafting pitch letters and/or emailing pitch memos to vendors  
  • Conducting and compiling research
  • Assisting with event planning 
  • Staffing and attending media events

  

 Qualifications:

  • Must have interest in public relations relating to corporate communications and employee engagement programs
  • Must have interest and general knowledge of corporate communications 
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines 
  • Superior verbal communication skills 
  • Must demonstrate strong writing abilities 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities through extracurricular activities 
  • Demonstrated creative thinking through projects, coursework, or activities 
  • Familiarity with the public relations and communications discipline through past coursework, other internships, or personal experiences 
  • Knowledge of CisionPoint is preferred but not required
 

Additional Information: 

  • Compensation is $12.50 per hour, with eligibility for overtime 
  • Candidates must be available for either part-time (20 to 30 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) internship for 3 to 6 months, starting in the immediate future 
  • Edelman does not provide any form of housing or transportation reimbursement
