Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of Corporate Social Responsibility will work closely with the VP to develop and implement Viacom’s Corporate Social Responsibility umbrella strategy and initiatives, uniting varied efforts across the company to position Viacom as a leader in the CSR space. The role will manage key Viacommunity programs, platforms and partnerships that strengthen Viacom’s relationship with our employees, our audiences and the communities we serve. The person will be in a time-critical, deadline oriented environment, must excel at jumping into and working on many different projects simultaneously and be a great team player and collaborator.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manages development and execution of internal and external initiatives that leverage the power of our collective portfolio to deepen our connections with fans and address the issues most important to them
  • Lead implementation of cross-company programs with key nonprofits, government organizations and companies
  • Oversees development, promotion and execution of employee engagement and volunteerism programs including Viacommunity Day and ongoing events and our skills-based volunteering and formal mentoring programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CSR departments across brands to coordinate efforts and partnerships, share best practices and leverage resources. In addition, foster relationships with HR, OGI, Velocity and Core Services and work seamlessly with brands and business units to create social responsibility goals, track progress and report on efforts
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and oversee communications efforts for the department including but not limited to, industry awards, speaking opportunities, internal newsletters, blog posts and presentations and our annual corporate responsibility report
  • Oversee Viacom’s corporate and CSR-related digital and social media

Basic Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of related (Corporate Responsibility/Marketing/Corporate Communications) experience
  • Needs to be able to work effectively on high-stakes, critical projects under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Experience leveraging digital and social media skills in campaigns

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to interface with senior executives and represent CSR in cross-company meetings
  • Desire to independently produce outstanding work and manage initiatives and campaigns
  • Ability to effectively partner with diverse departments
  • Deadline and detail oriented with strong project management skills
  • Understanding of the values and vision of Viacom
