Purpose of Role

MWWPR has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Account Executive on the Consumer Lifestyle Marketing team in the New York City office. The Associate Account Executive provides support to his/her account team(s) and manages the flow of work and information across accounts. The candidate must have prior PR experience, including media relations skills, event-planning experience and a working knowledge and/or passion for media relations.

The Associate Account Executive will maintain a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses and industries and will focus on developing his/her proficiency and the necessary skills to be an important contributor to account team(s).

Build and maintain relationships with media and secure pro-active publicity for clients
Help manage development of press materials
Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success
Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
Serves as liaison between clients, vendors, and agency departments to coordinate efficient and timely processing of materials

  • 1-3 years of experience in a public relations agency or similar position in a non-gency setting (some agency experience required)
  • Experience pitching media (traditional media and bloggers)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and dedication to deadlines
  • Good writing and presentation (written and verbal) skills and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to think creatively and proactively
  • Ability to multi-task
  • A bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field

    Success in achieving project management goals and client media relations
    Minimal travel may be required
    Ability to do some lifting is required
    Interest in technology and gadgets is a plus
