Description

 The Intern is responsible for assisting with implementing and monitoring projects within a specific set of accounts under the direction of the supervisor. S/he works closely with and supports the needs of the account teams. 

 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct, compile, and report to supervisor on basic research (ie, congress dates/locations, abstract submission deadlines, etc) 
  • Prepare client status reports 
  • Coordinate projects 
  • Create and manage spreadsheets to track timelines for deliverables 
  • Create and update templates for correspondence, meeting materials 
  • Proofread and copy edit documents 
  • Assist with annotating scientific content 
  • Assist with fact-checking referenced manuscripts 
  • Provide administrative support for team, when needed 
  • Work within established account budget parameters and notify supervisor of any potential cost overruns 
  • Demonstrate, apply solid understanding of basic principles of medical communication 
  • Demonstrate, apply basic understanding of key client information, including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors in the marketplace 
  • Learn and apply “client ready” mindset to all deliverables 
  • Participation in brainstorms when invited by supervisor 
  • Adhere to strict deadlines 
  • Welcome constructive feedback on deliverables, performance

  

 Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (ie, English, Communications, Journalism) 1 year work experience in a related industry (ie, medical communications, pharmaceutical marketing, scientific manuscript writing/editing, basic/clinical research) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and prioritization skills Readily adapts to new requests and changes in direction/deadlines Highly collaborative with a can-do attitude; able to work as part of a team(s) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro 
 
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (ie, English, Communications, Journalism, Biology, Chemistry) Previous experience with online research databases, such as PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov Exceptional attention to detail Understands basic budget estimating principles
