We currently have opportunities for interns, Account Coordinators, Associates and Senior Associates to join our team.

Account Coordinator, Associate, Senior Associate – Roseland, NJ

Qualifications

All positions require:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in communications, journalism, marketing, business or a related field
  • Outstanding research, writing and editing skills
  • Strong communications instincts and news sense
  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to changing priorities
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferably in a Mac environment
  • A commitment to learning and professional growth

Account Coordinator

The ideal candidate will have gained communications experience as an intern and possess a strong desire to learn and advance. Among other responsibilities, account coordinators are expected to:

  • Provide client service assistance, including scheduling and logistical support
  • Conduct research for clients and new business presentations
  • Create media lists and pitch media
  • Research, compile and analyze client media coverage
  • Write, edit and proofread materials for quality, consistency and appropriate style
  • Coordinate the work of graphic designers, photographers, printers and other partners
  • Assist with general administrative and office support as needed
  • Help to promote Reputation Architects to prospective clients through media and other channels

Associate

Associates will have at least two years’ experience in communications, preferably in an agency setting or applicable industry such as professional services, healthcare, financial services or technology. Among other responsibilities, associates:

  • Work on projects from concept through completion working directly with client contacts
  • Conduct research for client and new business presentations
  • Cultivate relationships with media, identify story angles and successfully pitch them to reporters
  • Keep abreast of trends and competitive issues in client industries and counsel clients on emerging risks and opportunities
  • Write, edit and proofread materials for quality, consistency and appropriate style
  • Coordinate the work of graphic designers, photographers, printers and other partners
  • Plan and manage client meetings and events
  • Handle administrative details and reporting for one or more accounts
  • Contribute to business development, including identifying new business opportunities and helping to promote Reputation Architects to prospective clients

Senior Associate

Senior associates have at least four years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields. Among other responsibilities, they are expected to:

  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact for one or more clients
  • Manage client and agency projects from concept through completion with minimal oversight
  • Develop and manage the execution of client plans
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in media relations, including media targeting, message development, pitching and spokesperson coaching
  • Keep abreast of trends and competitive issues in client industries to identify and counsel clients on emerging opportunities and risks
  • Oversee work of junior staff to ensure quality and provide constructive feedback on performance
  • Write, edit and proofread materials for quality, consistency and appropriate style
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure profitability and sound use of client and agency resources
  • Contribute to business development, including identifying new business opportunities and helping to promote Reputation Architects to prospective clients

Internships

Reputation Architects looks for interns for the summer and upcoming semesters on a rolling basis.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on position. Among other duties, interns’ responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting research for new and existing clients and business development
  • Researching and writing press releases, media pitches, articles for newsletters and websites, and other materials
  • Media monitoring and outreach
  • Coordinating projects with graphic designers, photographers, printers and other partners
  • Helping to plan and manage client meetings and events
  • Providing assistance as needed with account administration and general office support

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, reliable, and possesses at least a basic understanding of public relations. The intern must display:

  • Demonstrated experience or interest in corporate public relations and communications (as opposed to consumer product promotion, for example)
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills, including sound knowledge of English grammar and the basics of Associated Press style; candidates will be given a writing test as part of the interview process
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to changing deadlines and priorities
  • Strong academic track record and recommendation from academic advisor
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferably in a Mac environment
  • A commitment to learning and professional growth
