Social Media Abstracts! March 25 Deadline

Call for Competitive Abstracts New Jersey Social Media Summit Praxis & Publication: Exploring Social Media in Higher Education Wayne, New Jersey, April 8, 2016.


Scholars, practitioners and students who are interested in social media research are invited to submit abstracts for the competitive poster session at the 2016 New Jersey Social Media Summit to be held in Wayne, New Jersey on April 8, 2016, on the campus of William Paterson University.

The summit will bring together a distinguished panel of social media scholars and professionals to share their perspectives on the role and impacts of social media in today’s society. The theme of the New Jersey Social Media Summit 2016 is Praxis & Publication: Exploring Social Media in Higher Education.  Abstracts should be related to social media, but do not have to focus on the Summit theme topic.

The competitive poster session will feature some of the best social media research from scholars around the state. The poster session provides a rare opportunity to present research ideas to a wide audience of social media thought leaders and professionals, allowing for insightful feedback and cutting-edge, creative discourse.

The deadline for abstract submission is March 25, 2016.

All abstracts are peer reviewed. Abstracts can include either completed research or research in-progress.


The top three posters will receive juried awards. Judges will visit the poster session during the day. Final announcements and awards will happen during the closing ceremony.

Submission Requirements

  • Authors should submit a two-page word document.
  • Please include the following information for the first page of document:
  • The title of the study
  • All author(s)’ names, affiliations, mailing addresses and e-mail addresses (Indicate corresponding author)

On the second page, please include the following information:

  • The title of the study
  • One-page abstract of your study. *Note: Author-identifying information must NOT appear in the second page.
  • Abstract submission should be 12-point Times New Roman font, single-space with 1’’ margins.
