William Paterson University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with a Specialization in Strategic Writing in the Department of Communication to start September 2016.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate classes in Media Writing, Public Relations, Strategic Multi-Platform Writing and related areas such as Journalism and/or Communication Studies as well as graduate classes in Professional Communication. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the life of the university contributing to curriculum development, serving on committees, advising students and attending University and College functions.
Terminal degree required. Earned doctorate preferred. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of public relations and integrated communication required. Professional writing and editing experience preferred (newsletters, publicity materials, websites, social media platforms, etc.). A record of professional and/or scholarly publication is preferred. A clear research/publication agenda is required. Applicants must have a minimum of two years teaching and relevant professional experience.
