 Title: Account Manager – Educational Institutions

Reporting to:  Senior Account Manager

Location: New York


The Account Manager is the sole manager of their clients; responsible for matching clients’ needs with our commercial products and services by listening closely to clients’ needs, developing proposals, negotiating and closing deals, and providing excellent customer service.

Further, the Account Manager will collaborate with various departments to develop sales & marketing programs for schools as well as our “certificates of participation” product.


  • Manage incoming communications for all educational institutions (schools, universities, etc.)
  • Take ownership of all commercial-related requests from educational institutions received through the website, with appropriate follow up, including consulting, developing proposals, long-term relationship-building and providing excellent customer service
    • Including consulting with customers to deliver possible record ideas for their event or campaign
  • Proactively reach out to claimants to present all the benefits of our services as well as propose solutions to prospective new clients
  • Manage relationship with Guinness World Records’ certificate printing partner; and develop system for selling and fulfilling certificate orders from North American customers
  • Work with team to achieve Department sales targets
  • Further develop the commercial business through research, data mining and analysis
  • Collaborate with Publishing and Marketing departments to develop new plan for regular dialogue with schools about GWR products and services


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2-5 years account management experience in client services or in-house marketing/events or education industry


  • Excellent communicator, with focus on developing long-term relationships with clients
  • Enthusiastic personality with a passion for the Guinness World Records brand
  • Experienced in consultative selling and customer service for B2B and B2C
  • Excited to work collaboratively as part of a team in a 20-person office
  • Outspoken, articulate and comfortable to speak in varied situations including in public
  • Sales reporting skills as well as ability to analyze and report on trends in sales data
  • Excellent verbal and writing English skills
  • Self-confident and decisive attitude
