Responsibilities The Community Affairs Manager for Telemundo 47 will work with the Director of Community Affairs on projects related to partnerships (non- profits, community events, political leaders, corporations), talent, synergy events and fundraising. The Community Affairs Coordinator will help build new partnerships and maintain existing ones and serve as liaison with the non-profit organizations, maintaining evaluation records and organizing employee volunteer opportunities.

• Liaison between the stations and the community
• Establish and maintain partnerships and relationships in the market, including non-profit organizations, key community leaders, legislators and government agencies
• Plan and execute the stations’ community initiatives and public awareness campaigns
• Identify and manage station-sponsored events
• Manage requests and participation of news talent at community events
• Represent company at community and corporate events
• Responsible for Federal Communications Commission (FCC) quarterly programming issues reports
• Responsible for press releases
• Gather FCC reporting data
• Responsible for participating in the bi-weekly PR conference call
• Implement national corporate initiatives in our market
• Coordinate the on-going activities and expansion of the Telemundo community affairs outreach program
• Develop community initiatives with non-profit organizations, schools, universities and professional/trade organizations in conjunction with Telemundo, NBCU business units, affinity groups and Comcast volunteers
• Research companies and organizations for possible partnerships
• Assist with the planning and marketing of organizational events
• Manage public speaking at events and work with talent attending events
• Recruit, train and support employee campaign coordinators
• Utilize and be active on social media to promote Telemundo (Facebook, Twitter)
• Manage website to reflect proper HR-EEO, etc.
• Draft blogs, campaign pages, and other web material
• Respond to general inquiries about Community Affairs programs and activities
• Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required in business administration, communication or related field
• 3-5 years minimum Community Affairs and/or non-profit experience required
• Self-starter, resourceful, and a team player with proven ability to multi-task
• Strong planning, administrative, and organizational skills; attention to detail a must Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel and Power Point
• The ability to work both independently and in a team setting
• Excellent time management and teamwork skills
• Fully bilingual (Spanish-English) both oral and written
