The Players Guild of Leonia (New Jersey’s oldest continuing community theater) has provided the community with quality entertainment since 1919. Filling its long history are many proud accomplishments, ranging from numerous benefit performances for local organizations and Habitat for Humanity to two world premieres: “Zadig” in 1921 and Hamlet: The Rock Opera in 2002. In addition to the many hundreds of indoor productions, the Guild’s innovative Plays-in-the-Park (which ran until 1999) began in 1968 with “Our Town,” as part of Leonia’s 300th anniversary celebration. In 1995, with generous financial support and lots of hard work, the Guild members restored the Civil War Drill Hall (listed on the State and National Register of Historic Buildings) and converted it into a theater, where we proudly present our shows.
Internship position description:
Intern will primarily engage in developing and conducting a marketing communication campaign in various media to promote organizational image and increase ticket sales. S/he will assist the Board of Trustees in other communication endeavors that are mutually agreed upon.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, familiarity with various forms of social media, conscientious and self-motivated
We are a nonprofit, volunteer organization, so we can only offer an unpaid position (but free admission to our shows).
Students are eligible to earn college credits!
Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring – Hours are flexible, but attendance at monthly meeting/workshop (third Thursdays) is required as part of the hours.
