HIRING! PR, Communication & Web Coordinator NJ Part-time

We are seeking to fill the position of Communications and Website Coordinator. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with demanding deadlines. This is a part time position.

Essential Functions:

Departmental
•Develop communication and marketing plans with the director that accompanies AWA’s development and promotional timeline.
•Track production timelines for communications and work with others to ensure deadlines are met.
•Monitor AWA’s look and feel to best affirm AWA’s brand.
•Be mindful of AWA’s limited resources, seek & secure pro-bono printing services.

Online Media Production
•Responsible for the design and functionality of AWA’s website.
•Keep current on design and make recommendations for improvements to the website.
•Responsible for naming pages, tagging photos and periodically updating text to refresh website rankings with Google.
•Responsible for content updates and changes.
•Perform weekly updates to verify that website is current:
◦Monthly/weekly specials are current
◦Links to related URLs are working; social media site buttons are working, sponsor links, and PetPoint Posting.
◦Update with relevant AWA news stories and press releases.
◦Check that the online giving module is operational.
◦Event Calendar
•Mange electronic online fundraising activities
•Develop and implement online fundraising appeals and online marketing strategies
◦Coordinate e-appeals with Grizzard’s direct mail appeals. •Manage online event driven ancillary landing pages (Paws and Feet, auctions, ticket sales, etc.).
•Create Raiser’s Edge funds/appeals codes to track gifts made in response to an electronic gift/appeal.
•Draft and implement weekly or EOW e-blasts to AWA constituency.
•Manage “blog” calendar and task people to generate content on time. Evaluate content and post.
•Able to put updates on Facebook and Twitter as needed.

•Look for opportunities to “link back to AWA’s site” with our sponsors or with websites in our community.
•Improve functionality and monitor use of AWA’s “Virtual Shelter”

Direct Mail Production
•Establish timeline, quotes, securing or writing content and final review/editing.
•Establish strategy for success, communication pieces, securing photos, design, final approval, and printing process.
•Draft press releases, as needed.
•Mange the content and development of AWA’s direct mail pieces.
•Track timeline and due dates for each piece.
•Revise content to reflect AWA.
•Update data and ensure the pieces are “accurate.”
•Work with staff and volunteers to achieve good mission-related stories
•Write compelling campaign copy.

Analytics & Outcome
•Analyze email campaigns results.
•Make recommendations for improvements.
•Track using Google analytics or a similar application AWA’s website ranking.
◦Review results and implement new approaches to enhance online donations.
•Work with development leadership to evaluate the results from our direct mail appeals and work on the strategy, with the development staff, to improve response rate.
•Able to problem solve issues related to Blackbaud product’s functionality – Net Community, Sphere, and Raiser’s Edge.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications/ Web Design preferred

2 years professional experience

Experience with Blackbaud Sphere/Raiser’s Edge

Knowledgeable of current social media applications – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, You Tube.

Experience with Photoshop and MS Office applications

Experience with Google Analytics or another similar tool.

Physical Factors:

Work performed in administrative environment, but with close proximity to shelter and community animals likely

Long periods of sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and working outdoors in differing climate may be required

Working Conditions:

Part time positions requiring 20 hrs per week. Schedule is somewhat flexible.
Attendance at some off site AWA events is required
